Here’s one more look from my trip to Arizona where I decided to fully embrace my desert child spirit and bust out the fringe sweater, flare jeans, pointed toe booties, and oversized fedora all in one outfit. Overkill? Nah, never!
I think it’s safe to say fringe was the trend of the year in 2016. Designers seemed to be pretty consistent with the “fringe binge” starting in the Spring and quickly trickeling to Fall. I think no matter the piece, fringe is almost always acceptable and an easy way to add a little edge to something basic. Moving into winter and the new year, we are starting to see a lot of very different sweater trends hit the stores and media. From ruffles to fringe, sleeves to embellishment, sweaters are coming back with a big statement in 2017. This detailed fringe sweater is one of my absolute favorites, can easily be worn across the seasons, and has just a bit of that western flare I always need in my life.
Another favorite sweater trend i’ll be getting into next year is big sleeves. This year we saw a lot of beautiful bell shapes that helped everyone slowly get used to the idea. Now, sleeves have officially stolen the spotlight and are bigger than ever in 2017. I’m predicting shoulders will soon be passing the torch to arms as the new sexyiest body part.
